Summary:
Following the events of the original film, Sawyer gets a chance at a scholarship to attend an elite SEA Semester program which involves three months at sea to do marine mammal research. Sawyer wants to go but is concerned about leaving Winter, another CMA dolphin he helped save three years earlier, who has lost her tail. Winter needs attention and shows signs of stress and loneliness, especially after the death of her older dolphin friend, Panama. A USDA inspector requires that, for health reasons, Winter must be matched with a new female companion within 30 days or be transferred elsewhere. However, Winter's behavior has become unpredictable, even dangerous: when Sawyer tries to get her out of the tank to prepare to make her a new prosthetic tail, she becomes aggressive and knocks him into the water before someone jumps into the pool and rescues him. Dr. Clay at CMA orders Sawyer not to swim with Winter for a while.
Soon after, CMA rescues a serverly sunburned and beached dolphin, Mandy, to which Sawyer, Clay and his daughter, Hazel hope to be Winter's compainion. CMA begins to rehabilitate Mandy, planing on releasing her soon. Clay discovers a pod of dolphins headed for beach and plan to release Mandy by tomorrow. Mandy receives a goodbye "cerymony" while she swims out to sea.
Hazel and Sawyer break the rule and swim with Winter, who seems improved and is no longer aggressive. Dr. Clay catches them and scolds them, but then states that it does not matter, because Winter is to be transferred to a marine park in Texas since CMA has no companion for her.
Meanwhile, Sawyer wins the coveted scholarship to attend SEA Semester so his mother throws him a party, but he still can't decide whether to go because he is too upset. Dr. McCarthy shows him an old watch which must be tapped to keep ticking. Using this as an example, he encourages Sawyer to "shake it up now and then" and try new things in life.
During the party, Dr. Clay receives word that another female dolphin has been rescued. This one is so young that she has not yet learned how to hunt, so she cannot be returned to the wild. Thus she represents another hope of companionship for Winter. They name her "Hope." Also, in a side plot, Sawyer and Hazel rescue a sea turtle from some fishing line and name her Mavis. Rufus, on the other hand, develops a crush on Mavis, even watching her during a CT Scan. As Sawyer and Hazel release Mavis, Rufus, flies out to sea following her.
Dr. Clay gets an extension to keep Winter from being transferred, and CMA tries to introduce Hope as her new companion. But Hope panics and circles the pool at high speed, causing Winter to go into a dangerous panic as well. The staff quickly separates the two dolphins.
To see what went wrong, the CMA staff analyzes the video recording. They realize that Hope did not know what to make of Winter because Hope's echolocation sensed Winter had no tail and moved differently from other dolphins. Sawyer wants to try a new prosthetic tail, but some think it could make Hope panic even more. After debate, everyone finally agrees to try it.
In her second meeting with Hope, Winter wears the new prosthetic tail, designed by Dr. McCarthy. Again things get a bit rough, but eventually the two dolphins accept each other. Everyone rejoices that Winter can stay at CMA now that she has a companion. With Winter's improvement, Sawyer decides to go to the the SEA Semester program. Hazel says goodbye to him by releasing helium balloons as Rufus returns to the aquarium.
Real-life footage shown at the end includes Mandy's release, Hope's rescue, a sea turtle's release, Winter wearing the new prosthetic tail, and amputees interacting with Winter.

Summary:
Bob Ladouceur, the coach of the De La Salle Spartans, watches his team win the championship of their undefeated 2004 season. Following tradition, the seniors share their stories about what the team means to them. The juniors, including Ladouceur's son Danny, celebrate with team captain Chris Ryan who has a chance of breaking the California state record for the highest career number of touchdowns. During an argument about whether to accept a coaching offer at the college level, Ladouceur's wife Beverly tells him that he does not spend enough time with his family. A division meeting between coaches arranges to have De La Salle play against Long Beach Polytechnic High School, a team with a similar reputation.
Ladouceur engages the team members in a passage from the Gospel of Luke which states that all good deeds will be rewarded. This provokes a mixed reaction from players who come from disadvantaged households. Reminded of team alumnus Cameron Colvin, Ladouceur pays him a visit in Richmond, California and discovers that his mother is dying. Upon returning home, Ladouceur suffers a heart attack, impacting his ability to coach in the 2004-2005 season. Colvin is approached by his best friend Terrance Kelly who urges him to enrol at the University of Oregon so that they can play together. Not wanting to involve friends in the downward spiral he has found himself in, Colvin protests but eventually agrees. Days later, Kelly is gunned down while trying to pick up a friend and the Spartan team attends his funeral.
De La Salle's 151-game winning streak comes to an end when they lose a game against Bellevue, Washington without Ladouceur. After the game, Mickey Ryan hits his son and threatens further abuse if he does not break the touchdown record. When Ladouceur returns to coach, he takes the team to a veteran's rehabilitation center, to deconstruct their respective ideas of brotherhood. To prepare for the game against Long Beach, the teammates watch videos of previous games and see that all of the Poly players are faster and more physically imposing. The gruelling game becomes a victory for De La Salle after Danny knocks down a pass by Poly into the endzone to help the Spartans hold Poly on all 4 attempts on goal. The Spartans enter the final 2005 game with a renewed sense of confidence and hope that Ryan can make three touchdowns to break the record.
A number of touchdowns during the game, including two by Chris, place De La Salle in a comfortable lead. Mickey cheers that there is enough time left for him to break the record. When setting up their final play, Ryan gathers his teammates and tells them that it would be wrong for him to end his time with the team by chasing a personal victory. He instead gives up the ball and raises his helmet to Ladouceur. As the audience members do the same, the game ends with a tribute to the coach that brought them there.

Summary:
In 1805 in the fictional town of Cheesebridge, rumors abound that subterranean trolls known as Boxtrolls kidnap and kill young children. Pest exterminator Archibald Snatcher strikes a deal with the city's mayor Lord Portley-Rind, offering to exterminate every Boxtroll in exchange for membership in the city's cheese-loving council, the White Hats (disregarding his severe allergy toward cheese that causes swelling).
In actuality, the Boxtrolls are peaceful creatures, wearing cardboard boxes, who emerge from underground at night to scavenge through the trash for items they can use to make useful inventions. A baby boy named Eggs lives among them, cared for by a Boxtroll named Fish. As Eggs grows up over a period of ten years, he becomes dismayed over the disappearing Boxtrolls as Snatcher captures them.
Lord Portley-Rind's neglected daughter Winnie notices Eggs rummaging through trash with two Boxtrolls. Snatcher chases the trio and captures Fish. Devastated, Eggs puts together a disguise and sneaks back up to the surface to find him. Eggs emerges in the midst of an annual fair to commemorate the disappearance of the "Trubshaw Baby" eleven years earlier – presumed kidnapped and killed by Boxtrolls. Disgusted by the town’s inaccurate portrayal of the creatures, he follows Winnie away from the fair. She recognizes him as the boy she saw the previous night and directs him to Snatcher’s headquarters, an abandoned factory.
Sneaking into the factory, Eggs finds Fish locked in a cage and frees him, but they are caught while trying to escape. Snatcher recognizes Eggs as the Trubshaw Baby and reveals that all the captured Boxtrolls are still alive and building a machine. Winnie overhears this exchange, having followed Eggs to the factory. They and Fish escape from Snatcher and take shelter in the Boxtrolls' underground cavern.
Winnie is surprised to learn the truth about the Boxtrolls and convinces Eggs that he is not one of them. Fish explains that Eggs' father had given him to them as a baby in order to keep him safe from Snatcher, and Winnie agrees to help Eggs tell Portley-Rind the truth. At a ball held to commemorate the purchase of a giant cheese wheel called the Briehemoth, Eggs tries to confront Portley-Rind, but inadvertently knocks the cheese down the stairs so that it rolls into a river. Eggs announces himself to the party as the Trubshaw Baby, but no one believes him and Lord Portley-Rind throws him out for losing the cheese.
Eggs returns to the cavern and tries to persuade the remaining Boxtrolls that they need to flee for their own safety. Snatcher digs into the cavern using his machine, captures the entire group, and takes them back to the factory. Eggs awakens to find his real father, Herbert Trubshaw, who was captured years ago by Snatcher and held prisoner ever since, hanging next to him. He sees the Boxtrolls stacked in a crusher and begs them to run, but the crusher activates and flattens all the boxes. Snatcher drives his machine to Lord Portley-Rind’s house, shows him the flattened boxes as proof of the Boxtrolls’ extinction and demands Portley-Rind’s white hat once he kills the very last one (actually Eggs disguised as a Boxtroll).
The Boxtrolls suddenly arrive with Herbert, having sneaked out of their boxes just before the crusher activated, and free Eggs. Snatcher, infuriated, tries to take Portley-Rind’s hat by force, but Eggs, Herbert and the Boxtrolls disable the machine. The two adversaries are thrown clear and land on the Briehemoth, freshly fished out of the river. Snatcher then swells into a horrifying giant and forces Lord Portley-Rind to give up his hat in exchange for Winnie's safety. He triumphantly enters the cheese tasting room, but explodes after taking one bite of cheese.
The townspeople no longer recognize the Boxtrolls as monsters and come to live in harmony with them. Winnie tells the tale of Snatcher's end to a crowd, while Eggs and Fish drive off in one of Herbert’s contraptions.

Summary:
Scarlett Marlowe (Perdita Weeks), a young alchemy scholar, continues her dead father's (Roger Van Hool) work searching for the philosopher's stone, a legendary alchemical substance said to be capable of turning base metals such as lead into gold or silver and grant eternal life, discovered by Nicolas Flamel. After finding the Rose Key in a cave in Iran, she travels to Paris. She then enlists the help of George (Ben Feldman), her former lover whom she abandoned in Turkey while in pursuit of the stone. Along with Benji (Edwin Hodge) the cameraman, they translate Flamel's headstone, which contains a riddle that leads them to a point underneath the streets of Paris. She then enlists the help of a guide called Papillon (François Civil), his girlfriend Souxie (Marion Lambert), and friend Zed (Ali Marhyar) to search the Catacombs beneath Paris, France. George explicitly refuses to go, but is driven into the caves with the group when they are spotted by a policeman. After crawling through a narrow tunnel which collapses, they find themselves before a door that Papillion is reluctant to breach, as the only people who have gone through, including Pap's friend the Mole (Cosme Castro), have never been seen again.
Early on in the venture, they encounter some female Cultists who are singing and have possessed appearances. After proceeding deeper into the catacombs, they encounter the Mole, who agrees to guide them out, and informs them that the way out is down. They eventually find a tomb with a preserved Templar Knight, a mound of treasure, and the Flamel Stone. Removing the stone, Scarlett realizes too late that the treasure is a trap, and the room collapses. The Mole is lost under the rubble and is abandoned by the group.
With the Flamel Stone, Scarlett heals the group's injuries. They find a drawing of a door on the ceiling along with a Gnostic Star of David, symbolizing "As above, so below," meaning there is a door hidden in the floor. Going through the opening, they find a tunnel marked with the phrase "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here" in Greek, identical to the entrance to Hell.
Passing through, they find a dark reflection of the room they just left, including the Mole, who attacks Souxie by smashing her head into the rock floor, killing her. They realize they must continue and go deeper. Along the way, Benji the cameraman is pushed down a hole to death by the lead female cultist demon lookalike (Olivia Csiky Trnka), who caught his eye in Paris as well as while singing in the upper levels of the catacombs. Later they encounter a burning car and occupant (who is the same young man who told Scarlett to find Papillon as a guide), an incident from Pap's past who pulls in Papillon and then sinks into the floor. They attempt to pull Pap out of the ground, but to no avail. As they continue, they see apparitions of terrifying spirits and demons. Statues in the wall come to life and one attacks George, biting open his throat. After trying to drag him further, George murmurs "Vitriol," another riddle from earlier, and Scarlett realizes the Flamel stone itself is yet another trap, and that only by returning it will she find the real stone. She punches the dwelling statues she encounters on the way in a fit of desperation and anger, she then gets pulled down into a river of blood but she escapes their grasp just in time. Zed sees what appears to be the Grim Reaper and Demons and drags a nearly dead George to a safe spot away.
She races back to the crypt returns the stone and looks into a polished mirror on the wall where the stone was hidden, realizing that her quest for the stone and belief in the philosophy "As above, so below," (explained as simply willing acts of magic to happen makes it so) has granted her the magical abilities of the stone. She returns to George, kissing him as she holds his wounds, healing them. She then explains that where they are is about confronting their regrets, such as George's brother who drowned after he got lost looking for help and her father who committed suicide, as he had called her that night but she refused to pick up the phone. She says they must accept their guilt in order to absolve themselves and escape. Zed confesses he has a son who he never took responsibility for and denied as his own, explaining the visions of a little boy running around that have plagued him during their journey. With the hooded demons closing in, the three accept what they have done before a hole they have discovered. Together they jump down, even though they know there is no logical way for them to survive. As they land at the bottom, they look up, see the hole they came down is no longer there. They find a manhole, pushing it down, they pull themselves out onto the streets of Paris and to safety.

Summary:
Amelia, a widowed orderly, has raised her son Samuel alone following her husband's tragic death. Sam begins displaying erratic behavior: he rarely sleeps through the night, and is constantly preoccupied with an imaginary monster, which he has built weapons to fight. Amelia is forced to take her son out of school due to his ongoing behavioral problems. One night, Sam asks his mother to read from a mysterious pop-up storybook he found on his shelf. The story, titled "Mister Babadook", is about a supernatural creature; once someone is made aware of its existence, the monster torments that person indefinitely. Amelia is disturbed by the book's contents, while a traumatized Sam becomes convinced that the Babadook is stalking them in their home.
Strange events begin occurring throughout the house. Doors open and close on their own, Amelia finds glass in her food but not in Sam's, and strange sounds are heard with no apparent source. Amelia attributes them to Sam acting out, but Sam insists that the Babadook is responsible. Amelia eventually rips up the "Mister Babadook" book and disposes of it. At his cousin Ruby’s birthday party, Sam pushes Ruby out of a treehouse after she refuses to believe in the Babadook and teases Samuel for not having a father. Amelia’s sister Claire admits to her that she cannot stand to be around Sam, and suspects that Amelia feels the same way.
Sam has a seizure after experiencing a vision of the monster in their car. Amelia convinces a doctor to prescribe sedatives to help her son sleep, hoping that it will allow her some much needed sleep as well. One morning, Amelia hears knocking at the door and finds the "Mister Babadook" storybook, reassembled, on the front step. The book sadistically taunts her, claiming the more Amelia denies, the stronger the Babadook will get, and that it will grow inside Amelia. There are new popups of a possessed Amelia strangling her dog, killing Sam, then slitting her own throat. Terrified, Amelia burns the book on an outdoor grill. After receiving an eerie phone call, Amelia goes to the police to report a stalker, but is turned away when she is unable to produce the storybook. The police officer notices that Amelia's hands are black, which may have been the charcoal from burning the book but also may be from the black pastel used in the book, implying that she was perhaps the one who reassembled it. This is also supported when she states at the birthday party that she used to write children's books.
Amelia begins to see the Babadook wherever she goes, and spends several nights in a row without sleeping. With her mental health deteriorating, Amelia becomes hostile and shows signs that she intends to harm Sam. After Sam phones a neighbor for help, Amelia goes into a fit of rage, cutting the phone lines and killing the family dog, just as the book had depicted. During an altercation, Sam stabs Amelia in the leg with a kitchen knife and lures her into the cellar, which he has booby trapped in order to combat the Babadook. Sam manages to incapacitate his mother, and pleads with her to fight the monster inside her. After nearly choking Sam, Amelia momentarily comes to her senses and fights the Babadook until she vomits up a black substance and returns to normal. Although she initially believes her ordeal to be over, Sam reiterates that "you can't get rid of the Babadook" and then is dragged upstairs by an unseen force. The Babadook attempts to take Sam from Amelia, but she stands up to the creature, screaming that she will kill it if it harms her child. The Babadook collapses. Amelia approaches its body; upon her touching it, the creature retreats into the cellar.
Some time later, Amelia and Samuel's lives appear to have achieved some balance and normality again. After collecting a bowl of worms with Sam, Amelia takes it to the cellar, where the Babadook now resides. After offering the worms to the creature, Amelia returns to Sam and the two celebrate his birthday in their backyard.

Summary:
The Kadam family has run a restaurant in Mumbai for several years. The second-oldest son, Hassan (Manish Dayal), is being groomed to replace his mother (Juhi Chawla) as the restaurant's main cook. The family's dreams are disrupted when a mob attacks and firebombs the restaurant over an election dispute. Papa Kadam (Om Puri) and his family successfully evacuate the guests, but Mama is killed in the fire. Seeking asylum in Europe, the family first settles in London, where their residence proves ill-suited for a restaurant. They depart for mainland Europe.
Shortly after crossing the border between Switzerland and France, the brakes on Papa's van fail near the village Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val. Marguerite (Charlotte Le Bon), a sous chef at an upscale French restaurant named "Le Saule Pleureur" (literally "The Weeping Willow"), passes by and offers to help the Kadams to find an auto repair shop and a guest house. She also brings the Kadams to her apartment and treats them to cold food from the larder. Papa is amazed at the quality of the food in the village and its availability and discovers that Marguerite made them herself.
He learns of an abandoned restaurant building on the outskirts of town available for purchase. Madame Mallory makes her first personal encounter with the Kadams here, when she asks them to leave the lot because it was "private property". Seeing this as divine providence, Papa decides to buy it, even when the rest of his family is against it. He names the restaurant "Maison Mumbai".
The building is directly across the street, a hundred feet from "Le Saule Pleureur" (hence the name "The Hundred Foot Journey"). Its widowed owner, Madame Mallory (Helen Mirren), comes over to Maison Mumbai to ask for a menu, then tries to sabotage the Kadams by purchasing all the locally available ingredients needed to cook their dishes on opening night. A cold war erupts between Papa and Madame Mallory. The war peaks on Bastille Day, when one of Madame Mallory's chefs, Jean-Pierre, and two others vandalize the Kadams' restaurant by spray-painting the outer wall and firebombing the interior (Mallory has nothing to do with it). Hassan catches the would-be arsonists in the act and scares them off, but his hands and legs are burned in the process.
That evening, after the Kadams calm down from the incident, Madame Mallory convenes a meeting of her chefs and asks if they know the words to "La Marseillaise". After citing lines from the national anthem, focusing on defending the country from invaders, she claims that there are other ways to being French—equality, justice and fraternity. Knowing it was Jean-Pierre who bombed Maison Mumbai, Mallory fires the chef, then voluntarily cleans up the graffiti on Maison Mumbai's outer wall. Hassan, having heard from Marguerite that Madame Mallory hires potential chefs by taste-testing an omelette they prepare for her and decides whether it's a "Oui ou non", asks if he may cook an omelette for her to his recipe. Due to his injured hands, he asks Madame Mallory to help him crack the eggs. After sampling Hassan's omelette, Madame Mallory concedes Hassan's potential to be a great chef and invites him to work for her. Papa is initially dead set against the move, but asks Mallory what she will pay Hassan. After throwing counter-offers to each other (Mallory and Papa) ranging from 200 to 600 Euros, Hassan stops the financial debate and grabs Madame Mallory's offer of "320 Euros, 350 after three months".
Hassan's cooking proves popular and unconventional enough to result in Madame Mallory's restaurant receiving its second Michelin Star, an elite honor bestowed on only a handful of restaurants in Europe. The award draws national attention to Hassan's cooking, and he is offered a job in Paris, which he accepts. Papa and Madame Mallory make amends and ultimately begin romancing each other.
Hassan's cooking quickly receives critical acclaim, fueling speculation of a third Michelin Star for the Paris restaurant, but his work is increasingly bogged down by thoughts of his family and Marguerite (with whom he has an ongoing romance), especially after tasting an Indian co-chef's packed dinner (an authentic meal made with spices sent from India). Hassan decides to return home and reunites with Marguerite. He invites Marguerite to join him in a business venture—buying a stake in Madame Mallory's restaurant, along with operational control. Hassan believes this will help Madame Mallory's restaurant earn its third Michelin Star. That evening, Hassan and Marguerite prepare dinner for Hassan's family at Madame Mallory's restaurant. As the two young chefs bring out the dishes for the meal across the road, everyone anticipates an evening of romance and fine dining in the courtyard of Maison Mumbai.

Summary:
In 1988, following his mother's death, a young Peter Quill is abducted from Earth by the Ravagers, a group of space pirates led by Yondu Udonta. Twenty-six years later on the planet Morag, Quill steals an orb, after which he is intercepted by Korath, a subordinate to the fanatical Kree, Ronan. Although Quill escapes with the orb, Yondu discovers his theft and issues a bounty for his capture, while Ronan sends the assassin Gamora after the orb.
When Quill attempts to sell the orb on the Nova Empire capital world, Xandar, Gamora ambushes him and steals it. A fight ensues, drawing in a pair of bounty hunters: the genetically engineered raccoon Rocket, and the tree-like humanoid Groot. The Nova Corps arrives and arrests all four, imprisoning them in the Kyln. While there, a powerful inmate, Drax, attempts to kill Gamora due to her association with Ronan, who killed his family. Quill convinces Drax that Gamora can bring Ronan to him. Gamora reveals that she has betrayed Ronan, unwilling to let him use the orb's power to destroy planets, starting with Xandar. Learning that Gamora has a buyer for the orb, she, Quill, Rocket, Groot, and Drax work together to escape from the Kyln.
Elsewhere, Ronan meets with Gamora's adoptive father, Thanos, to discuss her betrayal. Accompanied by Drax, Quill's group escapes the Kyln in his ship – the Milano – and flee to Knowhere, a remote criminal outpost in space built in the giant severed-head of a Celestial. A drunken Drax summons Ronan while the rest of the group meet Gamora's contact, the collector Taneleer Tivan. Tivan opens the orb, revealing an Infinity Stone, an item of immeasurable power that destroys all but the most powerful beings who wield it. Suddenly, Tivan's tormented assistant grabs the Stone, triggering an explosion that engulfs Tivan's archive.
Ronan arrives and easily defeats Drax, while the others flee by ship, pursued by Ronan's followers and Gamora's sister Nebula. Nebula destroys Gamora's ship, leaving her floating in space, and Ronan's forces capture the orb. Quill contacts Yondu before following Gamora into space, giving her his helmet to survive; Yondu arrives and retrieves the pair. Rocket, Drax, and Groot threaten to attack Yondu's ship to rescue them, but Quill negotiates a truce by convincing Yondu that they can recover the orb. Quill's group agrees that facing Ronan means certain death, but that they cannot let him use the Infinity Stone to destroy the galaxy. On Ronan's flagship, the Dark Aster, Ronan embeds the Stone in his warhammer, taking its power for himself. He contacts Thanos, threatening to kill him after the destruction of Xandar; hateful of her adopted father, Nebula allies with Ronan.
Near Xandar, the Dark Aster is confronted by the Ravagers, the Nova Corps, and Quill's group, which breaches the Dark Aster. Ronan uses his empowered warhammer to destroy the Nova Corps fleet. On the Dark Aster, after Gamora defeats Nebula (who escapes), she unlocks Ronan's chambers, but the group finds themselves outmatched by his power until Rocket crashes the Milano through the Dark Aster and into Ronan. The damaged Dark Aster crash-lands on Xandar, with Groot sacrificing himself to shield the group. Ronan emerges from the wreck and prepares to destroy Xandar, but Quill distracts him, allowing Drax and Rocket to destroy Ronan's warhammer. Quill grabs the freed Stone, and with Gamora, Drax, and Rocket sharing its burden, they use it to destroy Ronan.
In the aftermath, Quill tricks Yondu into taking a container supposedly containing the Stone, then gives the real Stone to the Nova Corps. As the Ravagers leave Xandar, Yondu remarks that it turned out well that they did not deliver Quill to his father per their contract. Quill's group, now known as the Guardians of the Galaxy, have their criminal records expunged, and Quill learns that he is only half-human, his father being part of an ancient, unknown species. Quill finally opens the last present he received from his mother: a cassette tape filled with her favorite songs. The Guardians leave in the rebuilt Milano along with a sapling cut from Groot.
In a post-credits scene, Tivan sits in his destroyed archive with two of his living exhibits: a canine cosmonaut and an anthropomorphic duck.
