Raising questions on how long can an accused be denied bail and kept in custody while undergoing trial in a serious offence, the Supreme Court on Monday asked the Uttar Pradesh additional sessions court to specify the time schedule for concluding the trial in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, while hearing the bail plea of Ashish Mishra, the main accused and son of Union minister Ajay Kumar Mishra who is behind bars for more than a year.
